| Lisa and I went to SandBlast 2000 in Duvall. Lisa was on the booth commitee and I help with the sand carving. We camped overnight both nights (Fri and Sat).

| Mom and Dad Visit: Spirit of Washington |

| Mom and Dad came to visit for almost a month in late October/early November 2001.
We went on the Spirit of Washington dinner train.

| New Septic System at the Farm |

| Our old Septic system at the farm had been failing. After about 6 months of permits, waiting, etc, our new system was finally installed.
It is entirely a gravity system. These are the best systems because they have no working parts. But they are very hard to get because the codes are much more strict. Fortunately, we have excellent soil and enough room.
This is the line from the house to the septic tank (to right of the camera)

| Cle Elum Train Surprise |

| Lisa took me for a suprise visit to Cle Elum. We stayed overnight in a caboose at a Bed-n-Breakfast and we received a custom tour of Cle Elum's old Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul train station. The station has been abandonded since the railway went bankrupt. The main-line is now a state trail and most of the other buildings have been destroyed. There is now a movement to preserve the remaining buildings and to restore them.
Interior of the Power Station. This building housed transformers and generators that powered the DC trains. The generators operated on AC and generated DC for use.
The building has a "basement". This area was used for storage and for providing air-flow around the generators.
